Mindfit | Making mental fitness practical, human and accessible

Member: Mindfit

Mindfit was created by Sonya Braddock and delivers mental fitness and performance training for individuals, leaders and organisations who want to think clearer, manage pressure better and perform at their best without burning out. It exists to bridge the gap between science and real life, making mental fitness practical, human and accessible, not theoretical.

Sonya received support through the Thrive programme.

Challenge/ opportunity

Mindfit combines neuroscience, mindset, emotional regulation and lived experience to help people understand what drives their behaviour, stress and decision‑making and to give them practical tools to regain control.

After more than 20 years in corporate leadership roles, Sonya experienced burnout and major life challenges despite outward success. The turning point came from understanding how the mind, beliefs and nervous system respond to pressure. Mental fitness transformed how she lived and worked, creating the opportunity to help others achieve the same clarity and empowerment.

Incubator Support

Sonya joined Thrive after recognising that passion and instinct alone were no longer enough. While confident in the value and impact of her work, as a first‑time business owner she was seeking clarity, strategic direction and a robust framework to build something sustainable. She was also keen to connect with other like‑minded people navigating a similar journey.

Thrive provided the structure, guidance and support she needed to turn ideas into a clear, focused plan with defined goals and direction.

Outcome & Impact

Sonya is focused on growing Mindfit’s impact by working with organisations and individuals who see mental fitness as an essential performance skill. In the short term, she is refining and expanding programmes, strengthening partnerships and increasing visibility to reach those who need this work most.

Longer term, she envisions Mindfit as a recognised and trusted mental fitness brand in the UK, delivering corporate programmes, retreats and accessible training across organisations, education and communities. Her ambition is to build a sustainable, integrity‑led business that helps people feel clearer, calmer and more confident – proving that success does not have to come at the expense of health or happiness.

Sonya was the overall winner in her Thrive cohort’s pitch event, delivering a well‑prepared and well‑timed pitch that really caught the judges’ attention.

The standout part of this experience for me has been working with my business mentor. He’s helped me make sense of my messaging, sharpen my focus and put structure and strategy around my vision. The clarity I now have around direction, planning and next steps has been transformative, and the value of that support can’t be overstated.
