Health Innovation In West Yorkshire

The new Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre will be based on the University of Huddersfield’s National Health Innovation Campus in Huddersfield. It will run a business support programme for companies and entrepreneurs in the health and wellbeing sector, through the Huddersfield Health Innovation Partnership and is expected to be complete in Summer 2025.

I’m interested in a lab/office at the new health and wellbeing innovation centre but I can’t wait until 2025. Is there anywhere else I can have a lab/office in the interim?

Health and wellbeing businesses interested in taking a lab or office at the new health and wellbeing innovation centre, will have the opportunity to rent temporary space at the 3M BIC, subject to availability, until they are able to move into the new building in 2025. How much is it to join the membership?

Membership is £900 per organisation up to March 2025.

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UK SPF) project will offer a contribution of £600 per eligible organisation, reducing the net cost to £300 per organisation.

An NHS Associate Membership is available for organisations involved in the NHS sector at £300.

Who is eligible for the membership?

Organisations that are involved in health and wellbeing are welcome to join the membership.

Businesses that eligible for the UK SPF discount must:
• Be West Yorkshire and/or Kirklees based
• Have a health and/or wellbeing focus
• Employ fewer than 500 employees
• Actively participate in health innovation events run by the project
• Agree to provide equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) characteristics and outcome data by early 2025 as part of funding requirements.

NHS organisations are not eligible for UK SPF funding, however may join as associate members for £300 in order to participate in events and networking sessions.
