Mentoring and grants are available for West Yorkshire based businesses that want to innovate or focus on employee wellbeing.

Our mentoring scheme is designed to help health and wellbeing startups, researchers and innovators to innovate and grow, from creating new products or services to engaging in knowledge transfer opportunities with academia.

Eligible businesses can also benefit from grants to access technology to develop new products or improve existing ones, pilot innovative employee health and productivity approaches, as well as tap into research opportunities with a Health Innovation Proof of Concept.

Mentoring is ideal for health and wellbeing organisations that are interested in developing innovative products or services.

Mentoring is designed to support companies and founders to:

  • increase revenue
  • adopt new technologies
  • adopt new or improved products or services
  • engage in knowledge transfer e.g. with a University
  • create a new enterprise
  • create or safeguard jobs.

Our mentors will include those with niche industry expertise, as well as general business mentors.

Our grants will stimulate innovation around health and wellbeing within West Yorkshire businesses and new enterprises, aiming to improve business productivity, increase collaborative R&D and promote economic growth.

Access to Technology

Designed to help entrepreneurs to adopt innovative technologies or processes, with a view to developing a new product or improving their existing products and services to increase revenue.

Organisations can access up to £3k to access product design, software and technology from 3M BIC or the University of Huddersfield to develop health innovation projects.

Health Innovation – Proof of Concept

Designed to enable early-stage collaborative R&D between West Yorkshire companies and University of Huddersfield researchers to exploit innovative research capabilities within a commercialisation context.

Organisations can access up to £10k to develop a proof of concept or feasibility research with an academic researcher with specialist health or well-being knowledge.

Employee Wellbeing

Designed to enable employers to pilot innovative approaches to improving employee health and wellbeing whilst increasing productivity, as part of a wider research trial.

Organisations can access up to £10k to develop an Employee Wellbeing Plan following a structured diagnostic audit with resources to help implement and track impact on employee well-being and productivity.
